The legend that we now know as Monteiths Brewing Company began in the mid-1800s when a gold rush drew 30,000 adventurers to the rugged West Coast. Prospectors always welcomed a satisfying beer at the end of a hard day. Thankfully there was plenty of choice with over 300 pubs on the West Coast ~ 84 of them in one Hokitika Street.

Monteiths has been crafting its family of fine beers for nigh on 150 years, staying true to the authentic process and recipes of the classic beer styles we re-create. Renowned the world over, Monteiths continues to produce beers that are made to exacting standards and capture the spirit of the world’s most famous beers and, in some cases, forgotten favourites, that are all but forgotten.
