Enerbev (Pty) Ltd, the company behind Cape Karoo Natural Mineral Water, moved its operation from its birthplace in the Karoo to Weltevrede Wine Estate in order to ensure a reliable supply of top-quality water.
Here, the water seeps slowly down the Paardeberg mountains through layers of granite, eventually ending in a vast acquifer that is replenished each year by natural rainfall and so can easily provide a sustainable supply without any adverse environmental impact.
So Karoo Spring Water starts with an excellent natural product, and then goes to great lengths to ensure purity and consistency. As each batch of water is filtered and bottled, it is continuously tested by an independent laboratory.
In addition, the production facility is not only rigorously monitored on an ongoing basis by the South African Bureau of Standards, it also complies with the international HACCP standard (an acronym for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, an international standard designed to ensure food safety).
Karoo products are distributed nationally and have been exported around the world, to Europe, North and South America, and the Far East.
