Frei Brothers Reserve is a winemaking story more than a century in the making. Frei Brothers Reserve was established in 1890 in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley by Swiss immigrant Andrew Frei who established the property and winery, later turning it over to his sons, Walter and Louis. The brothers adopted the name "Frei Brothers" and successfully operated the winery for more than 70 years.
For more than three decades, the winemakers and winegrowers for Frei Brothers Reserve have felt that preserving natural resources is of the greatest importance. Since their humble beginnings, Frei Brothers Reserve has seen a lot of changes—big and small—that all stem from a mindset and value system aimed at caring for the earth while producing the highest quality wines.
Tasting Frei Brothers Reserve wine is to embark on a journey. Each sip takes you to a moment and a place that is unlike any other. It is the synchronicity of location, soil and climate that gives a wine its soul.
